Actress Shruti Haasan, daughter of actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan, will be teaming up with superstar Mahesh Babu in his next as yet-untitled Telugu film.
The project was officially launched in Hyderabad on Monday. "Shruti Haasan is finalised as Mahesh Babu's pair in the film, which was officially launched with a puja this morning.
Regular shooting is expected to start from September and will be completed in one long schedule," a source from the film's unit said. To be directed by Koratala Siva, the film will also feature Rajendra Prasad, Jagapathi Babu, Sampath Raj and Brahmanadam in important roles.
Shruti, who recently shook a leg with Mahesh for an item number in upcoming Telugu actioner "Aagadu", will play his lead for the first time. She is currently busy shooting for Tamil film "Poojai" with Vishal Krishna.

Aagadu will become biggest hit in Mahesh Babu's career, said producer Anil Sunkara. Superstar's new movie opening was held today and the event was attended by Tollywood biggies. Though Mahesh was not present at the opening ceremony, his wife Namratha graced the event. 'Mirchi' fame Koratala Siva is directing this action and family entertainer while Shruti Haasan has been paired as the leading lady opposite to Mahesh. 'Dookudu' is the biggest hit in Mahesh's career till date and this film collected close to 56 crores. 14 Reels producers made '1-Nenonnakadine' and tasted heavy losses with that film and now, they are leaving no stone unturned to make sure that 'Aagadu' becomes another blockbuster in Mahesh Babu's career. Srinu Vaitla is directing the film and the recently released teasers received fantastic response from Superstar fans and Telugu movie lovers. Aagadu also marks 50th film of SS Thaman and the music director said that this album will be one of the best in his career. Ram Achanta, Gopi Achanta and Anil Sunkara are jointly producing 'Aagadu' under 14 Reels Entertainments banner and the audio of this film will be unveiled on August 28. Makers of 'Aagadu' are planning to release film on 19th or 26th of September 2014.

According to the reports, Mega Power Star Ram Charan's 'Govindudu Andariwadele' is being planned for release on September 26. We all were so excited to hear about the trilingual multi-starrer film starring our tollywood heros Mahesh Babu and Nagarjuna and directed by the ace director Mani Ratnam. Chennai, April 22: Jagapathi Babu, who ruled as a charming romantic hero not very long ago, is set to play the father of superstar Mahesh Babu in a yet-untitled Telugu project, to be directed by Koratala Siva.

"I had planned to rope in someone new for the father's role and when I watched Jagapathi's performance in 'Legend', I knew I had my man," Siva told IANS.

Jagapathi played the antagonist's role in recent Telugu blockbuster "Legend".
"He (Jagapathi) didn't want to play a villain again so when I had approached him with this role (in the new film), he instantly agreed to do it. He was very particular that he didn't want to get typecast in a role," he added.
Mahesh Babu, who is currently busy shooting for Telugu actioner "Aagadu", will start shooting for this new project soon.
Shruti Haasan has been reportedly been roped in opposite Mahesh in the film, which will be produced by Mythri Movies.
Meanwhile, Jagapthi hasn't stopped playing lead roles. One of his Telugu films titled "April Fool", starring him in the lead role, is gearing up for release soon.
Mahesh Babu's next film directed by Koratala Shiva will go to sets from July if only the director comes up with the changes in script suggested by superstar. Mahesh thought of postponing this project for a while by doing Puri Jagannadh's film immediately after Aagadu.
UTV Films was adamant to make any postponements and Mahesh was bound to complete this project before he starts any other. But Koratala Shiva has failed to impress Mahesh time and again. Recently he narrated the story again and Mahesh asked for some changes.
If Koratala succeeds in making those changes this film will start rolling from July. Mahesh wants to complete this film as early as possible. He has so many movies in the pipeline. Many star directors are waiting for Mahesh to get free.
Superstar Mahesh Babu and Koratala Siva film is going to be launched in July. The film said to be an action entertainer will be produced by UTV motion pictures and title is yet to be finalized.
Apparently, Mahesh Babu has liked final narration from Koratala and he has given call sheets in second half of the year. Heroine and other details about the movie will be announced soon.
